Massive Oil Deposit Found in Alaska

America’s output can dwarf the Middle East if we allow ourselves to do it.

Some 1.2 billion barrels of oil have been discovered in Alaska, marking the biggest onshore discovery in the U.S. in three decades.

The massive find of conventional oil on state land could bring relief to budget pains in Alaska brought on by slumping production in the state and the crash in oil prices.

The new discovery was made in just the past few days in Alaska’s North Slope, which was previously viewed as an aging oil basin.

With oil at $49/barrel and dropping it would be sort of foolish to open up this find at the current time.  And this oil is expensive to get and transport.  It wouldn’t make much fiscal sense in todays market.

As technology advances, market efficiency will make this doable at some point, if it is not today…unless liberals screw it up with environmental nazism at some point.
