France Upset Over U.S. Spying

Coddling enemies and enraging allies… that’s how we roll nowadays.

France has summoned the US envoy in Paris over claims that the US spied on President Francois Hollande and his two predecessors, officials say.

Whistleblower website Wikileaks reports the US National Security Agency (NSA) spied on Mr Hollande, Nicolas Sarkozy and Jacques Chirac between 2006-12.

Mr Hollande called an emergency meeting and said France would “not tolerate” acts that threaten its security.

The US said it would not comment on “specific intelligence allegations”.

Obama has a problem figuring out which is which. That makes him one of the worst presidents in history of US on foreign policy.

    Maybe worse than Carter.

    Jade,

I see you are practicing the compassionate, tolerant, liberal position on issues this A.m. Good for you, let your true liberal flag fly.

Given the identity theft on posts, I’ll amend the last post to say,

“the person pretending to be Jade” instead of “Jade”.

    Gee thanks.

Didn’t know conservatives thought France was an ally.

Had the story been leaked in 2007, the post would read, “Stop whining, surrender monkeys. Pass the freedom fries.”

    Pike,

I liked your comment. Gave me a big chuckle.

You would be correct, except for one fact: we are the “surrender monkeys” now with this president.

    Here’s another chuckle for ya.

If you would have called the United States or its president a “surrender monkey” any time between Sept. 11, 2001, and Jan. 20, 2009, you would have had your patriotism, Americanism and Christianity challenged.

I guess the Ari Fleischer era of “all Americans that they need to watch what they say, watch what they do” is over … at least until the next Republican president.
